Neuralgia Pain Relief - 0 Comments

What Is Neuralgia?
Neuralgia pain relief products are used to relieve the symptoms of neuralgia, which is severe sharp pain along the course of a nerve. There are many causes of neuralgia, such as mechanical factors, including compression, contusion, or trauma. Infections can also cause this condition: localized, involving direct infection of nerves or may accompany diseases such as leprosy, tetanus, turberculosis, malaria or measles. Metabolic factors, such as a thiamin deficiency, can cause neuralgia, as can a vascular problem in the body.

Neuralgia may be also be caused by pressure on the nerve trunks, faulty nerve nutrition, toxins, or neuritis. Symptoms include pain and loss of sensation in the affected nerve area; swelling, redness, and in severe cases, convulsions occur. Minor cases of neuralgia are localized and the cause may be temporary or long lasting, but have no detectable causes. Often, this condition goes away without treatment, especially if it was brought on by trauma or stress.

Neuralgia Pain Relief Treatments
The most common forms of neuralgia pain relief therapies include bedrest, motion exercises, dietary changes, massage, heat therapy, and the removal of causative factors if they are known. Some wonderful herbal pain relief therapies include supplements that contain vitamin C, zinc, black cohosh, eucalyptus, ginseng, marshmallow root, and peppermint, to name a few. It is also important to follow a diet that restricts caffeine and carbonated beverages, and includes fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and grains.

Alternative pain relief products that contain purified menthol, peppermint and eucalyptus oils, can also reduce pain when applied to the affected area topically, through an ointment or spray. These ingredients target the nerves and muscles that are causing you pain, and bring soothing relief to that area instantly. Other pain relief options include acupuncture, chiropractic adjustment, self-hypnosis, or meditation.
