Symptoms and Treatment for Thigh Pain - 0 Comments
The nerves of the body are functioned to pass around and through your joints to bring information to the brain, which in turn sends back messages to activate muscles. Though, mostly there is enough space to permit the easy passage of these nerves, at times because of swelling or trauma of some sort, these openings narrow down thereby squeezing the nerves, leading to pain or even paralysis.

A common symptom that can help you identify the compression of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve, one of the large sensory nerves to your legs, is a painful, burning sensation on the outer side of thigh. Some of the other commonly observed symptoms that can assist in the diagnosis of thigh pain include:

  • Pain on outer side of thigh extending down to the outer side of knee.
  • Burning sensation or numbness in the same area.
  • Aching in the groin area, spreading across the buttocks.
  • Experiencing pain usually only in one side of the body.
Although, there are treatments available for getting rid of thigh pain, these may vary largely depending upon the source of pressure. As it is, the basic purpose of the treatment is to remove the cause of thecompression. Some of the commonly recommended treatments include:
  • Resigning from aggravating activity of any kind.
  • Trying to loose weight.
  • Wearing loose clothing as far as possible.
  • Using a toolbox instead of wearing a tool belt.
Though, the above mentioned treatments are useful for minor thigh pain experiences, in case of severe thigh pain, it is always advisable to refer to your physician at the earliest. At times, you may even be required to undergo a surgery to release the nerve.
